From Disney girl to double Emmy winner, global fashion icon and undisputed queen of the world box office, the actress changes decades after completing a historic 2026 marked by the consecutive premieres of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.

Born on September 1, 1996, in Oakland, California, Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman is now 30 years old. But that little girl who took her first steps backstage helping her mother at a Shakespearean theater is today, without a doubt, one of the most influential personalities of her generation.

Turning thirty in Hollywood usually marks a significant turning point. However, the actress reaches this personal milestone at the height of an extraordinary 2026.

And after starring in the acclaimed ‘The Drama’ and the highly anticipated return of ‘Euphoria’, she has conquered the international box office by playing the goddess Athena in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ and reprising her role as MJ in the big release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.

“All the women I’ve ever met have told me that your 30s are the best time of your life. And I feel that way too, because I think your 20s can be a little chaotic—you’re discovering so many things! By 30, you know yourself better, you know what you want, so I’m really looking forward to it,” she said during an interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Between stage discipline and the Disney school.

Zendaya’s passion for acting wasn’t sparked under the dazzling lights of Los Angeles, but rather in the back room of a regional theater. Her mother, Claire Stoermer, was the theater manager at the California Shakespeare Theater in Orinda.

It was precisely in that environment, amidst the backstage scenes, period costumes, and classic scripts, that the young woman discovered her true calling: “That’s where I realized that my true love was the performing arts,” she recalled in an interview with Seventeen magazine.

Thus, after taking her first professional steps as a backup dancer and child model, the big opportunity on a national scale arrived in 2010. At just 14 years old, she brought Rocky Blue to life in the Disney Channel comedy ‘Shake It Up’.

Back then, achieving early fame in the well-known teen entertainment industry was often a double-edged sword that had derailed the careers of more than one promising talent. However, Zendaya displayed from the beginning a composure uncommon for her age.

With the constant guidance of his father and agent, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, he managed to maintain a protected and shielded career from the nocturnal excesses of Hollywood, firmly planning his subsequent leap into adult roles.

The ‘Euphoria’ phenomenon: from on-screen pain to the Emmy summit.

Although her early work gave her media exposure, it was the HBO series ‘Euphoria’ that catapulted Zendaya to the top of contemporary dramatic acting.

By stepping into the shoes of Rue Bennett, a teenager trapped in addictions who goes through suffering, grief and the search for sobriety, the actress unsettled both specialized critics and the general public with the rawness of her performance.

Thus, her historic consecration came in 2020: at just 24 years old, she became the youngest winner in history to receive the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series: “I know this seems like a really strange time to celebrate, but I just want to say there is hope in young people,” she said during her speech.

The feat was repeated two years later: in 2022, Zendaya once again won the statuette in that same category, becoming the first black woman to receive the award twice and the youngest performer of all time to win two awards of that level.

However, the artist’s magnetism extends far beyond the small screen. In recent years, her name has become synonymous with commercial success and critical acclaim in the film world. After establishing herself in the role of Chani within Denis Villeneuve’s dizzying ‘Dune’ saga, she reaffirmed her strength in 2024 with the sports drama ‘Challengers’.

In that feature film, she not only brought to life the tennis player Tashi Duncan, but also assumed the role of executive producer, earning between 10 and 13 million dollars.

However, it was this year, 2026, that finally broke any glass ceiling.

Following the acclaimed premiere of ‘The Drama’ (the A24 satire she co-starred in with Robert Pattinson) in July 2026, the actress has signed an unprecedented double feature in theaters.

First, by embodying the majestic goddess Athena in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’. And almost simultaneously, by stepping back into the shoes of MJ for the highly anticipated release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.

With this, Zendaya has achieved a feat within reach of very few figures in the history of cinema, young or not: dominating the box office by leading two such large-scale blockbusters at the same time.

‘Tomdaya’: the complicity of a couple who cherish their privacy.

In an environment where the private lives of celebrities are often used as media fodder, Zendaya has managed to protect her personal life. Alongside British actor Tom Holland, she has built one of the most stable, beloved, and closely guarded relationships in the industry.

Their paths crossed in 2016 during the casting tests for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and, after years of discretion in the face of speculation and rumors, they made their relationship official in 2021.

In an interview with People magazine, Tom Holland revealed what she means to him: “I’ve found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been when I’m with her. I’ve never felt so supported and secure.”

Speculation surrounding a possible marriage gained renewed momentum after the sensational words of her stylist, Law Roach, in The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s already happened… You missed it.”

Today, having shared intense promotional schedules over the past few months on the occasion of the premieres of ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, the phenomenon dubbed “Tomdaya” embodies the contemporary ideal of mutual support, both on and off the set.

But despite having made its mark in movie theaters in recent months, Zendaya’s professional horizon does not rest: in the early stages of her thirties, the long-awaited finale to Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy with ‘Dune: Part Three’ and the production of the biopic focused on the singer Ronnie Spector, ‘Be My Baby’, await.

And so, that little girl from Oakland who dreamed backstage at a local theater is confirmed today, with maturity as her banner, as the undisputed owner of contemporary Hollywood.
