Singer Myke Towers is promoting the return of Taco Tuesday as a cultural ritual in the region

Mexico City, Jan 26 (EFE). – Puerto Rican singer Myke Towers, one of the most influential figures in Latin urban music, joined the relaunch of Taco Tuesday in Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain, an initiative that seeks to reclaim this day as a cultural ritual and meeting place for young audiences.

The announcement was made this week in Miami, where the artist participated in the presentation of a campaign promoted by Taco Bell, which aims to redefine Tuesday as a recurring moment of coexistence, identity and cultural expression, beyond a commercial promotion.

Towers explained that his involvement in the project stems from a personal experience in 2015, when he was first recognized by a fan at one of the chain’s restaurants, early in his career.

“It was one of those moments that makes you understand that something is starting to happen,” the artist recalled, noting that the episode marked a symbolic point in his relationship with the public.

A personal story turned into a collective message

The campaign, which will focus primarily on Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador, and Spain, uses this experience as its central theme to invite the singer’s fans to share their own “important Tuesdays ,” connecting music, everyday life, and the meeting spaces that are part of urban life in the region.

“It’s not about selling a product, but about people recognizing themselves in those moments that end up marking a personal story,” Towers said during the presentation.

The singer, who has built his career from digital platforms to international stages with hits such as ‘Soleao’, ‘Lala’ and ‘Adivino’, among others, has a solid fan base in Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain, regions where urban music leads cultural consumption among younger generations.

Youth and cultural habits in transformation

According to analyses from the cultural sector, these regions concentrate some of the world’s most active audiences in digital consumption, concerts and online music, a context in which brands seek to connect through shared cultural experiences and not only through traditional advertising.

In this context, Taco Tuesday is presented as a symbol adaptable to different local realities, associated with music, socialization, and urban rituals that accompany millions of young people every week.

For Towers, the initiative connects with the way his music has accompanied his audience in everyday moments.

“Music has always been there to accompany gatherings, celebrations, or simply to disconnect for a while. That’s the spirit we want to bring back,” he said.

Regional reach and cultural projection

The Taco Tuesday relaunch will be rolled out primarily on digital platforms, where the artist’s fans can interact and share their stories, in addition to visual activations in selected cities in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain.

The company explained that the goal is to strengthen the cultural connection with local audiences, in a context where experience and emotional identification are more important than the product itself.

With this collaboration, Myke Towers expands his presence in initiatives that cross music, identity and everyday life, while Taco Tuesday seeks to consolidate itself once again as a cultural meeting point for a generation that constantly redefines its social rituals.
