New York, July 24 (EFE) – Meta (the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) launched Seller on Friday, a standalone AI-powered app designed specifically for sellers on Facebook Marketplace, a free section within the social network that allows users to buy and sell new or used items.

The app is free, and its launch coincides with Marketplace’s tenth anniversary. It is now available on the App Store for users 18 and older in the United States.

Users can log in with their Facebook accounts, which automatically syncs their listings and sales history. Everything created in Seller will automatically appear in Marketplace, where buyers already operate.

Key features include AI-powered listing creation, where Meta’s AI auto-fills the title, description, suggested price, and category simply by uploading a photo.

The app also offers a unified inbox that organizes buyer messages by item, inventory management tools, and performance statistics on views, clicks, and sales.

Tom Alison, Facebook’s chief executive, explained in an interview with The New York Times that Marketplace will be to sellers what video editing tools are to content creators.

Currently, more than 430 million items are listed globally each month on Marketplace.

Meanwhile, Meta introduced a free “human verification” feature for Facebook today.

This tool allows users to upload video selfies to verify their identity. Those who do so receive a gray badge next to their profile name, assuring other users that they are talking to a real person and not a bot.
